Reviews: 2Pac Shakur’s All Eyez On Me

2Pac Shakur All Eyez On Me Album Cover

I came across this Pitchfork article and thought I’d start grouping some artist and/or albums on the same pages and maybe do a little editing and summarizing (while including link to full original), include related info… we’ll see where it goes. We’re new to this. – Frank 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me is the magnum opus of a paranoid genius – Pitchfork Tupac’s 1996 double album was made in a frenzy. It is paranoid and brazen, fun and fearless, but it is Pac’s singular style that keeps his magnum opus from coming…

Dolores O'Rierdan of the Cranberies

The publicist of the newly reunited Cranberries’ singer Dolores O’Riordan is reporting that “Family memebers are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.” To this day, whenvever I listen to Fleetwood Mac’s “Go your own way”, I always hear Dolores beautifully lalala-ing over the break. Here is a rare stripped-down performance on French radio. Dolores O’Riordan says goodbye in her final tweet. bye bye Gio. Maynard James Keenan’s frontman wishlist.

tenor - Maynard James Keenan's frontman wishlist.

In his interview wuth Revolver magazine, Maynard James Keenan (Tool,Puscifer,Perfect Circle) talks about some of his favorite frontmen/frontwomen that he admires and draws inspiration from.  A name or two on the list may surprise you. Steve Martin “He shreds on the banjo. He has totally inspired me as a frontman, as a performer, and as a musician. I never saw him onstage other than on video, but he’s amazing with a crowd, and his stand-up albums were like rock records.” Gerald Casale (Devo) “He’s an absolute nightmare in the best…

Busker performs his version of John Lennon’s “Imagine”

20171009 011112 - Busker performs his version of John Lennon's "Imagine"

I love me some street musician performances. This busker gave the commuters chances to sing along though he picked up the crowd’s slack just fine. A very nice version of John Lennon‘s “Imagine” on the Chicago Blue Line subway platform.  Something about the trust involved in being blind and having the money bucket out on the L platform adds a bit to the feeling of the song. You’ll want to watch through to the end. This guy knows how to use the moving trains to his advantage! Please follow and…

LouFest 2017 poster2 1 - Loufest in St. Louis on Sept 9th and 10th, featuring Weezer,Snoop Dogg,Cage The Elephan

So disappointed that I can’t get out to Loufest. Would have loved to hit the museum while taking in some great acts at the fest. Not a bad string of good acts on Saturday (Day 1)   ..and how can you go wrong with these two the next day?: Loved Weezer’s performance at Lollapalooza this year and really every Weezer show we’ve seen. I let myself miss Cage the Elephant this time despite looking forward to seeing them the most that day. We had seen Cage at Lolla two times…
